[E] think of her when the sun goes down
So, I'm a little confused. I was watching 'The Girl in the Fridge' (1x08) tonight, and Goodman says he hired Brennan two years prior, so in appx. 2003. But in 'The Woman in Limbo,' (1x22) Zach mentions that she's been at the Jeffersonian since 1998. And if Brennan was Michael Stires' student at the age of 23 (appx. 1999), would that mean that Michael was working at the Jeffersonian? Or is the 1998/2003 simply a mistake?

(I think I pay too much attention to the details...)

Maybe Brennan wasn't hired on as the lead forensic anthropologist until 2003, but was working there from 1998-2003 in about the same capacity as Zack was, working there as a grad student?

That seems to be the current assumption...

#1 is easy peasy. She had some other job before she was hired for her current position. Likely she got there as a student (like Zack) and then worked her way to a permanent position, and from there to the one she's got now.

#2 is not that hard. She's been there since 1998, that is cold hard fact. Michael, however, could have been wrong about her age. Or lying on purpose. Or she was close enough to be called 23 (depending on her birthday), or 23 was just the last time they were together on a semi-regular basis (maybe the job at the Jeffersonian was why they parted ways- she was too far, and it wasn't a real relationship).

But Zack would not have been wrong.

Or else it was just a stupid mistake. They're entitled to a certain number, and they get things right enough that I'm willing to give them some wiggle room. :)

1- That's what I figured. It seems to be a good assumption. :P

2- Well, the fact that she mentions that she left the gift he brought back her at his place three years ago, makes me assume they were seeing each other at that point. But they seem to be able to fall back together pretty easily, so it could've been a one-time thing, or something...

From how it was being played, I assumed their relationship was mainly sex-based and that they indulged when the circumstances allowed. I'm sure they must have had something a little more serious going on when she was his student and they saw each other all the time, but when she left and did her own thing it fell to 'hey, you're in town! Sex?'

I bet Brennan has fuckbuddies stashed all over the place. :D

Haha! And from what she said in The Truth in the Lye, that's probably true...

2- Brennan probably goes all over the place for her job since there are only 50 forensic anthropologists. She probably visited Michael from time to time... until she got extremely since Goodman hired her on as the head of anthropology at the Jeffersonian.
